Battery related recall (Canada)

Hi guys, I was in at the dealership today and my car has a recall on the battery. The SA says they are going to up its voltage (?). Has anyone had it done? The SA guy didn't give much information other than they would also have to do a reprogram. Does anyone know what exactly this recall involves?

Thanks in advance

I brought my 09 135 in and they changed the fuel pump and battery. They also did a software update. I don't feel anything different and I also didn't have any problems with my car before (knock on wood) At least you get a new battery!

Thanks for your reply. I am not sure if I am getting a new battery but I was wondering if by software update it will improve my throttle response. The throttle response has diminished since last DME update.

It must be amperage that is increased. It can't be anything other than a 12 volt battery.

I had it done a few days ago and I didn't drive my car since then but I do notice the new battery is bigger. I heard it's a recall specific to us Canadians only. They have to program/code to recognize the new battery so I guess the software update comes as part of the programming?

My 2009 135i had its battery replaced under recall a few weeks ago. Prior to that I had walked out the car and found all my radio presets and audio settings wiped out. I never knew why. The mirrors stopped responding to the seat memory settings.

They replaced what has to be the biggest battery I have ever seen with one that looks the same. I did not lose any settings during the swap. Whatever else happened they somehow restored my mirrors.

Yes I was told that the new battery will have a higher amperage and the car will need an update for the battery.

Anyways guys, just to follow up on the battery recall: Battery bigger in size, higher amperage. The start (crank) sounds much quicker than before. One thing though, occasionally the revs seem to hang a bit longer between gear shifts, sometimes for 2 seconds and drop really slowly
