Have you removed your scrape guards?
I'm curious how many people have removed the little rubber pieces, known as scrape guards, located under the front bumper. I'm wondering how doing so has worked out for them, how it looks, etc. I think they look awful on the car.
How hard are they to remove, put back on, stuff like that. I know they serve a purpose, but still, they are hideous. |

Are these not supposed to act as air splitters?

That's what I thought...supposed to prevent air from going up into the wheel well and creating front-end lift.

The 1M doesnt have them, but then again, that has those "air curtain" things. So maybe they do? They still look like ass on the car.

I took mine off when I put my CF spoiler there...haven't felt any significant lift doing at least 160 guess the spoiler is doing it's job.

Those parts are aerodynamic parts and are found on many cars at the front and rear. In effect, they are spoilers in the truest sense of the word; they disrupt the air flow in those areas.

They aren't scrape guards but aero parts that aid with air flow for reduced drag coefficient mostly as they push air around the tires.

I hated them also. I removed them when I ordered the iCarbon lip. They were very easy to remove and should be reasonably easy to reinstall.

Ok, now that we have determined that they are air splitters and not scrap guards, has anyone without a lip remove them and noticed any significant changes? Maybe they are more for gas mileage purposes, to reduce drag?
I want to put another front lip on at some point, so I probably won't need to remove them, just curious. |
