The BC is fully-functioning, it just changes to a one-line display; i.e., you can view the BC info or the odometers, but not both at the same time like in the pic above. I've seen 128i's with the two-line display, so I don't think it's a 128i vs. 135i thing.

Different software version maybe? Ask your dealership what version you have and see if they can update you to the latest..
that's my best guess

It took my dealer two days to get the iPod adapter programming right. Not sure I trust them with a vehicle software update!

I believed this feature only available on 3 series and up.

I think you may be right. My 128i doesn't do it, nor do any of the loaner 1ers I've had.

My 2011 135i does it, 2 lines. Its actually what I have mine currently setup to show. Its done it since I took delivery, and I've had 1 software update since then. The update didnt change it though, its still 2 lines. |

My 2010 6sp 135i only shows one line. The whole sequence information changed when the software was "updated". Now every time you start the car it shows the odometer as default. Prior to the "update" it would come up on the same indicator that was active when the car was shut off. I really liked the way it was before...
