Update your cars bluetooth software yourself

not sure if you guys know, but you can update your cars bluetooth software yourself by downloading the file at this site:

Here is also a page that allows you to check if you have the latest version based on your VIN number:

http://www.bmw.us/Standard/Content/O...hframedin.aspx

(select I know the VIN and put in your last 7 digits)

MY QUESTION to everyone, how can someone update the software if they DO NOT have iDrive?

It says right there in that first link that....

"To perform this software update, you will require the USB audio interface (included in optional equipment codes 6FL, 6NK or 6NL) as well as the Control Display and iDrive. Your vehicle can be updated provided that you have the 'Software update' option on your 'Settings' menu in the Control Display."....

I would assume that the dealer would be able to perform a manual update for cars that do not have all of the above requirements as Dackel pointed out. If anyone has any info on this, it would be much appreciated
