Cool Hey new here

Figure the best place to get more info about a car is go to the forums of those who own them but anyways.

Friend of mine who owns a 135i talked me into looking into one so here it goes.

Looking at getting one just wanted to see if I can get some info.
What are the differences between the years from 2008-2011?
I remember my friend said one is single turbo then it switched to twin turbo or somethin.

Another thing is how is the stock handling? I was looking at getting the Eibach pro kit springs or H&R sport springs.
Will the stock strut and shocks handle lowering springs?

This is most likely be a weekend cruiser with light to little track use. Just wanted a more performance weekend cruiser that can handle out of the box.
If it makes a difference my weekend cruiser is a 2000 mustang gt with mods and well got tired of it and so Im looking into something with more power but can handle a whole lot better.

Hi Hawaiian dude..

Very minor cosmetic changes from 2008 to 2011..they come with different rims and teh newer ones have uglier/bigger mirrors.

Yeah engine changed from Twin turbo to single larger turbo...that said pretty much same HP between the two; there's opinions both ways about which will ultimately be better for modding but since the new single turbo engine is still new, there's no definitive answer.

Springs only, no shocks..i wouldnt do it.

If you want a weekend warrior, i'd suggest a 2008 to 2009, save u some money and way more mods available right now.

2008/2009, then get one of the many tunes, camber plates and an m3 convertable front sway bar... anything more than that is just gravy but the stock handling is really weak in the 135 without more camber and a stiffer fsb. should make for a good weekend car. Good luck, 135i was the best decision i've made in cars in a loong time

If you're looking for a car with Nav, I would avoid the 2008 model. The 2009+ has a massively improved system.

Yeah my buddy got a tune and he said he saw around a 50 hp increase, but also said you can get a tune from bmw but he said you wont gain as much though its doubled the price of a tune from a performance shop.

yeah I figured Id get stiffer springs and upgraded sway bars. ill keep that in mind the m3 convert sway bar in front. Im guessing its alot bigger.

Yeah for a weekend cruiser and something that can handle twisties I just wanted to upgrade parts of the suspension and then a nice exhaust maybe from cpe or berk. From there it just be cosmetic parts. Then possibly a tune after all said and done.

Never really used a Navi though I will def keep that in mind.
