What do you think about also providing the state in which you reside? It would be interesting to see which states are getting productions and how it develops over time. With the odd ED arrangement, I believe it still depends on where your dealer is located. Thanks.

What is the first digit of your number? This is apparently the build month. I.e. first digit 4, as mine is, signifies April.
I have heard though that having a production number is not an assurance of a production allocation as it can be changed. |

If that is accurate, then it is not accurate every where.

Red135 - Can you elaborate on your comment re accuracy. Either you know it is accurate or it isn't. I don't know either way. I can only go off what I see in these forums and what my dealer tells me. Neither of which is reliable. The dealer says that BMW in Germany is in control of production. So if they want to change production for a customer who hasn't received an actual allocation in production they will. You will simply be given a new production number.

Once again, the production number explanation info...proof, you guys apparently know more than my dealer as he swears it'll be built next month and I'll have it in May. Oh well, as long as I get one. He said people have been calling him for weeks now trying to get on the list and when he tells them they are so far only getting one allocation, they ask how they can bump #1 (me) off the list... getting ruthless out there |

Dealer emailed us Friday that the car finished production and he would let us know what ship it was on when he got the info. As a side note, when you get the VIN you know the car is for real Wild Bill Last edited by Wild Bill; 03-13-2011 at 12:57 PM.. |

Thanks Neil, I hope you're right and good luck on your allocation as well. I'll feel better when I get a VIN, which supposedly I'll have this coming week... we'll see

Euro delivery is not available all the time on all models. Sometimes euro delivery is available with not discount and sometimes the vehicle is available at a discount. In the case of the 1m their is a discount iand that amount is $3180. The buyer picks up the vehicle in Germany and has up to 6 months to send the vehicle to a US location to receive it. The euro delivery price includes two weeks of auto insurance. Any additional time for insurance must be purchased. The buyer pays their own way to get to Germany to pick up the vehicle. After the buyer drops the vehicle off in germany, the vehicle is delivered to the U.S. in the same fashion as if the buyer simply purchased the vehicle in the U.S.
