Exhaust Recommendation

Hi

I have been considering an exhaust change for awhile and was wondering what you guys would recommend???

I have heard the Ti Vorsteiner, it was amazing, but I found the droning to be rather annoying.

I would like it to be a little more audible, but not deafening.

I was consdiering Ackrapovic, but was told its not ADR approved, has annoy had any experience with their slip-ons???

Any advice would be appreciated.

Gruppe M exhaust still have very less drone..(i do believe M3 standard exhaust have minimum drone as well)but i can take it compare to remus and other brand exhaust drone....i got freind(in overses) ship to me around 6000AUD(include delivery fees) with good price receipt(to avoid the tax)...i think amuse exhaust for M3 sound will be very nice as well....but about the drone on amuse(im not sure..i think will be little drone as well)maybe you can ask member here who is using amuse for the feedback about drone....
i think you can order from here:
https://www.gruppem.co.jp/onlinestor...roducts_id=536

I'd do all sorts of nasty things to an Akrapovic Evolution full exhaust. But not ADR approved? where did you read that?

My approach was conservative with a Dinan slip-on and I'm very pleased. Increased throaty exhaust note (not as in your face as most systems that people prefer on here) with no drone and better looking cans.

As I understand it, it is merely the muffler ie a cat-back system.

as suppose to a full exhaust system including the cats etc.

The Akrapovic Evolution exhaust system removes the front catalytic convertors so is deemed to be not road legal and to be sold as an off road use product only. You will need the deleter or an ECU tune if you fit the Evolution exhaust. See in this video between the O2 sensors that it is straight pipe

The Slip on is just the rear muffler and it joins up to where your factory rear muffler joins to the mid section. This would also sometimes be termed as a cat back.

The Eisenmann Sport or Race come with a rear muffler and also comes with connecting pipes for easy installation.
Hope that answers your questions.
If you want some images posted of the Akrapovic or Eisenmann let me know, i have plenty.

Hi
I recently fitted the Eisenmann Sport system to my E92 Edtion. Maybee if this helps I have posted some YouTube clips
(there are seven of these)
When I bought the car it was fitted with a Remus Sport system which lasted around a week due to very high cabin drone around 2000 RPM and under. The stock system is very quiet but the Eisenmann did the trick. You can really hear it's a V8 at idle but not too loud. Sounds great under acceleration but does have a slight (but tolerable) cabin boom at 1500 to 2000 RPM. All around its good and not over the top. Its quite a large investment so you want to get it right.

Hope that helps.

I just had the eisenmann race exhaust fitted on Friday (I think it originally came from SouthernBM, so thanks for the good price!) The car has been completely transformed...it's extremely loud and there's quite a bit of drone around 2k rpm...but cruising at 60km/h (in 6th @ ~1400rpm) it's silent and on the freeway at 100km/h (in 6th @ ~2500rpm) it's also silent. So it's tolerable, but it's definitely worth it for the sound! I love it!

Eiesnmann Sport Exhaust

I got mine through Andrew at Southern BM too but through our local BMW agent in Queensland. The Eisenmann is a great system and I think the Le Mans tips look much better than anything else I have seen. The sport and the race look identical, but I think the sport is good for everyday driving. If it's too loud you end up getting sick of if, (or worse getting a canary) whereas the sport is only about double the sound level of the stock system but sounds great. It also has that nice V8 tone at idle but the stock system has nothing. I found Andrew very helpful when making the choice as I think he also sells Arakapovic, so there is a variety of the most widely high end systems to choose from.

Andrew fitted me with an Eisenmann Race as part of the SBM stage 1 kit last week. Will do a bit of a write up and post some photos sometime soon...but wow, I love it!!!

It sounds amazing and has transformed the car! It's quite loud, but mostly only when you want it to be. The only bad thing I could say is it drones a little bit between 115-125kph. It doesn't sound like a V8 commodore, definately more exotic, my neighbour thought it was a lambo

It looks great and is more aggressive looking than stock, yet still quite subtle as the tips are the perfect size for the car. Quality is 100%, well worth the $

This shows the difference between stock and Eisenmann tips. The Eisenmann Tips look way nicer than stock in my opinion.

Stock

Eisenmann

I look forward to the write up mate, glad you made it home safely. How long was the journey?

Those Eisenmann tips look wayy better than stock.

I like my gloss black akra tips too

The driveablility, and low drone of the full akra is better than any full system out there, IMO. Some are louder and sound is a personal pref...but the fit, finish, drivability and lack of drown in the akra is amazing. See if you can find one and drive it.

IMO, the beauty and all the performance gains of the akra system is in the full evo package.

If I went slip-on (just the mufflers) I don't think I'd justify the 3k+ pricetag for the evo.

Hoping to catch up with another M this arvo, so will get some photos up

MFKN3, did you just get slip on or full system?

What does the full system do to the warrenty? I am really tempted to get a full akra system but voiding my warranty is the main reason why i havent done it yet.

Anyone got any feedback or experience with exhaust and warranty issues?
