Option Prices?
Any word on the option prices or might these be released on the 16th with the allocation numbers?
What's the hold up, BMW?

From my dealer this morning: "Pricing for the 1M has yet to be released. We have just been notified of the allocation formula based on previous 1 Series and M car sales figures. I will get you the information as soon as we have it."

I heard the same thing this morning. I was also told, "I will be fired if I sell this car for under MSRP."

Should be interesting to see what the numbers are, because if you take the 135i options list, you can determine the 1///M packages with a great degree of certainty (i.e. adding all the items in the 135i packages and a-la-cart ones that form the new packages in the 1///M). Any upward deviation from this would be a royal fail. If anything, the sum of the parts should be costing more than if taken as a whole, no?

I don't know how price lists are calculated in the US and if are there any differences, but the German price list of the 1M is equal to the one of the 135i's.
The packaging of that options is another story, but the component's price should really be the same. |

Just FYI, these are the Aus prices for all options on the 1M. I would expect that these will be more expensive here than in the US, as is the norm.

^^^ Options by country (and price) vary significantly. I think you guys benefit from a very loaded base car (which unfortunately also equates to a very high price), and fewer standalone/a-la-cart options. Here in the US you get a reasonably built base car, but options are by and large all-or-nothing.
Here is my prognosis as far as US pricing: If I go by the option pricing from the current 1-, it seems the list will be as follows:
If you were to load up all the available standalone options (not included as part of either package), you get... $54,775 (and this is without the BMW Apps which I have no clue what will cost, but def would make the car over $55K).

No, the $47,010 announced price included the $875 destination, so $46,135 above is correct. |

So that's $5100 to get the three things I wanted (Nav, USB, Bluetooth), which should have cost $3250.
Where's the emoticon/smiley that shows me saluting BMW with my middle finger? |
