VRS style & authentic VRS lip and others...
I am researching for lip + diffuser and after reading some posts I would like to know what are the differences btw VRS "style" and VRS authentic besides the price. I've heard the authentic one sometimes does not fit as well as the "style".
And I think both authentic and style are composed of CF overlay and fiber glass (correct me if I am wrong). If that is the case, what would justify the higher cost of authentic one? branding? This is the list of lip & diffuser of my choice Lip: Arkym = Challenge > VRS authentic/style Diffuser: VRS type II style/authentic > Arkym (does Arkym makes shorter type of diffuser?) > Challenge Any suggestion or advice regarding price, fitment, quality...etc, is welcomed Really appreciate the help |

Can't speak for other manufacturers but we recently did a post about what goes into each Vorsteiner piece. It's an interesting read if nothing else to show you how a true prepreg dry vacuum form carbon fiber piece is produced:

Generally speaking, the VRS "Style" Replicas are wet lay CF which produces inferior fit/finish to the authentic VRS. The ARKYM pieces are also vacuum infused CF which will offer a superior fit/finish to the replica pieces you inquired about.
Unfortunately at this time, ARKYM does not offer a shorter diffuser (similar the VRS Type II). Many people go with the replica VRS or ARKYM front lip because they consider it a disposable part, and do not see the point on spending the premium for a part that will get banged/scraped up eventually... |

I have a JL replica front VRS which fits 9.9/10 and weave was fine. Would not hesitate to suggest it.
Their JL diffuser is horrible. doesnt fit at all but looks OK. Run! I went with an authentic VRS front + rear now and it fit first try - don't cheap out on the rear, buy used if you can't afford as you do get what you pay for which that curvy rear bumper design. |
