Just installed a double sided Vorsteiner bootlid on my E92 today. The one I installed weighed (with paint on exterior and cleacoat interior) considerably more than the advertised weight of 11lbs. I weighed both the oem lid and the Vorsteiner on the same home scale. Vorsteiner is 10lbs lighter (26lbs vs. 16lbs) than OEM.

OEM = 26lbs
Vorsteiner double sided = 16lbs

Both were weighed as base lid with no emblems, trim, lights, latch, etc or other required parts.

Interesting, thanks. I was gonna do the one-sided trunk from them but was hoping for/expecting more of a weight savings than that....hmmmm.

Good info, thanks for sharing. At 26lbs, the OE bootlid is fairly light so there is not a lot to shave off but every bit helps.

quick question.
Do you have any problem with the license plate lights and trunk opener?
is it hard to installed it?

No, once you get the trim off the inside, everything is accessible to remove. Took me about 90 minutes to remove and reinstall everything. It is a tight fit, but I was able to transfer all the lights, trim, parts etc from the oem lid. Alignment is a bit tricky, but nothing is too hard.
