My first M3: Finally Ordered!
Well, it finally happened, I ORDERED MY FIRST M3!
After driving around in my 2000 323Ci for the last 10 years, I decided it was time to let the old girl go and step up into the car I always wanted. I got my 323 new in 2000, and I'm gonna miss her... BUT NOT FOR LONG! I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am, but somehow I think you already know. I got my production number yesterday and confirmed that I'll be taking delivery at the Performance Center in Spartanburg, SC on March 18, 2011. The wait is already killing me and it has only been a day I want to thank all the guys over at Steve Thomas BMW for helping me get the car I want at a great price. They really are a class act over there. But I especially want to thank Ryan Amico, the SA who has helped me with everything from choosing the color and transmission to battling with the bank for the financing I wanted. He's a great guy who knows his stuff and will work his ass off to get you what you want (even the individual options that some other dealers won't bother trying to get). So here's the breakdown of my new ride: 2011.5 E92 M3 Coupe Jet Black, Black Novillo leather, Carbon Leather trim DCT Premium Package 2 Convenience Package Enhanced Premium Sound Mods planned immediately: OEM CF splitters (orderd) OEM CF spoiler (orderd) OEM Black Grilles (orderd) Tints Painted Reflectors Tinted Tail Lights Future Mods: Rims Springs V1 rearview mirror integration OSS Angel Eyes and blacked out corners Rear Diffuser If it isn't obvious by now, I'm going with the blacked out theme. Not sure if I'm going to go black on the rims too, but that's a decision for the future. Thanks to all of you on here that have helped me make my choices, whether you knew it or not. I CAN'T F**KING WAIT!!!! |

Congrats on the order! Welcome to the wait club. I ordered back in mid-December and just waiting for the factory to open up next Monday. Man, I've never been more excited about a Monday than this coming one!!
You sure about that confirmed delivery date? I'm doing PCD as well (was given late Feb as a tentative date but looking to push it to beginning of March) and I've been told many times over that you can't get the date locked in so early because of so many unknowns in production schedule, shipping times, etc. Of course, it's no biggie to reschedule the date as you get closer. Maybe we should do delivery same day! Would make for some great photo ops! |

I know right! I was going to shell out the extra couple grand for the 600 hp ZCP option based on what I read on this forum, but then I heard it doesn't actually make your car faster lol.
Just playing ZCP guys, not trying to start a flame war before I even own an M3. Personally, I knew I wanted aftermarket rims and a more aggressive drop (probably on coilovers)m so it didn't make sense to get the ZCP option just to undo everything that it comes with and redo it aftermarket. Quote:

I also have a PCD date of 3-18-11. My scheduled production week is week 4, so 6 weeks to get from the factory to the center.
The late date is okay for me as maybe winter will be gone by then..... See you there.

Lets do it if you can make the date.
I would have gotten LMB if the special color wasn't available....... I like the PCD as by the time I drive back home most of the break-in mileage will be done.

I'm also week 4 production and status 112. Sounds like we might have a nice crew up there, and a photo op with all our cars at the PDC would be sick. Anyone live up around those parts who can tell us if there's still snow on the ground mid-March? Also, is there anywhere around there (within a couple hundred miles or so) worth visiting?

That means they are two weeks behind? I thought we are technically currently in BMW Week 3.

Taking Performance Center Delivery on March 18. I don't know how much faster I could potentially get it if I were to take dealership delivery, but it's probably not more than a week or two and I really want to do the Performance Center Delivery.
