Boot release button not working inside car

Hi guys,

I have Nov 06 M Roadster and suddenly the boot release button stopped working and the light doesn't even come on, on the button (the car picture). The boot works fine with the remote key.

locks, mirrors, windows etc all work good, any ideas? is there a fuse, because i red there isn't one and it might be the GM5 module or something like that but it doesn't make sense that only that is not working. where do they wires pass to go to the back?

Pull the trim around the switch and see if the switch itself has been damaged or is shorted.
