Cup holder replacement

Has anyone replaced their cup holder? I see one screw inside, is that the only thing holding it in? I plan to replace it and not use it ever. Just knowing
it is broken bugs me even though I can't see it when it's closed.

There are two screws IIRC. You can get a replacement from Tischer. I used RealOEM to find the part number, then plugged it in to Tischer. But it's just going to break again. Ultimate cupholders are a better bet.

Yup. That's where the second screw is (behind the little plastic cap).

I had both of mine replace under warranty. They are nearly worthless, much too fragile. But who the hell buys a M car for the cupholders?

Try North Haven BMW if Tischer can't get BMW AG parts.
You'll need a P/N 64 22 6 963 779 left cover black and P/N 64 22 6 918 464 right cover black.

I kneed in the cup holder first day I got the car when I got out to pump gas. I derailed it. It took like 10mins to pop it open, fix it. Never used it again. I got the Ultimate cup holder.

The issue I have with the Ultimate cup holder is, I sit close to the steering wheel. When I place a drink in it, it's a bit annoying to reach down and it brushes against my leg. I got two ultimate cup holders, so I place my drink in the passenger side; I find it easier to reach and doesn't brush against my leg; I don't regret the purchase, anything is better then the stock one.

I ran into it the first time I put a cup in it. I took it apart and put it back on the rails. Now I just look out for it. Still use it all the time. Not a very good design, I'm sure it was an afterthought, but it does work.

Thank you, I also sit closer than most and I was wondering if I wanted one or two of these. It sound like one on the passenger side would do perfectly.

Dang....
I had a pair of these from my roadster, but I must have sold them.

...guess I'll have to re-order a pair.
