Seriously though, do you want a car similar to the 135i? Send us a list of what you need/want out of a car and we can narrow it down for you. |

My GTI was probably the best car I've ever owned and it was quite a bargain. Zippy enough to be fun and the shape made it super easy to live with.

It would help if you narrowed your requirements down. Otherwise you get suggestions like the Malibu. What's wrong withe the 1?

I guess you could say im a tad bored...had the car since launch (03/08). Been reading about the VW GTI R coming next year...looks fun but worry about quality.

If you get bored after a couple of years anyway then why do you care so much about quality in the long term? My VW was perfect for the year that I had it and my pops has had his for 2 years with no issues. They've improved quite a bit over the last few years.
That being said... if I'm in your position I would be looking hard at the WRX. It definitely has the speed and build quality that you're looking for.

I have also read in regards to VW where its assembled makes a difference on the quality. I had a GTI 337 and R32 and never had any issues with either car even with extensive mods, both were assembled in Germany according to the the VIN. |

I'm pretty sure all of the current (06-) GTIs are built in Germany. I know mine was.

The GTIs are, I had a 2008 GTI for 2 years 23k miles and NO problems!! VWs bad quality rep seems to be overrated. Great car but the a/c sucks and the fwd layout isn't the best. Still probably the best car in the $25k segment.
