Considering this Candidate.

So the day is almost here. I am seriously considering pulling the trigger on this machine. I have a few questions.

1. Any of you buy out of state? Any regrets or recomendations ? Possible trucking companies and what you paid.

2. What do you think of the options and pricing, it fits all of my criteria. But I might be overlooking something.

3. Is there anyone in the Allentown PA area that could take a look at this car for me?

Thanks guys, I can't believe this day is already here lol.

I just purchased a 2008 Z4MC with 5.2k miles on it about 3 weeks ago in Lancaster, PA. I flew up and drove it home. I had know problems with the transaction. The salesmen was straight forward and told me about all the flaws he saw on the car. When I arrived everything went smooth and his word was true. I absolutely had no problems.

I paid 35k for mine, a little strong on the price, but I was happy with the car (having the extra warranty time, being a 2008, and only having 5200 miles on it, was worth paying that price to me). It had just under 2 years of warranty left and it was the color I wanted with all the options (even extended leather). My Z4MC was a 1 owner, not leased, all documentation and only driven in the summers. The car was as close to new as you could get except for 1 little chip in the paint.

Looks like the car comes with pretty much everything and with that low mileage I don't think you can go wrong.

honestly unless you're looking for that specific mz4, I would buy one on the west coast. There are tons of mz4's in cali & washington.

youre looking at $1500 to ship from east coast to seattle. So the total price is 31000+1500 shipping = $32500, not a bad price for a 13k mile 07 but not fantastic either.

I bought one without seeing it on the internet. But it was CPO'ed. The only problem i had were little touch up paint spots or drcolorchip spots that didnt shine as well as the original paint. I only discovered this when i went to get a quote 2 days ago on respraying the front bumper on all the rock chips i received in the last 8 months. Cost me $800 to ship from Los angeles california to houston texas.

Seems like a nice price. I would have picked this up had it been available 7 months ago...

I am not being too specific about it really so maybe a westcoast car is the ticket. I just want it to be either black or grey. Needs to have navi.

I flew out to IL to pick mine up and drove it back. I really wanted Sepang and the price was unbeatable. I don't regret my decision at all and the road trip driving it back with my friend was awesome. We stopped in Denver and Las Vegas and every minute of the trip was a blast. We were fighting over who got to drive the car LOL.

Bought mine in Houston, TX while living in Phoenix. If you can afford the time, a road trip home is a great way to get to know your new car. Then again, with winter almost here, shipping might be a safer bet. I shipped my car on an enclosed trailer through Reliable Carriers when I moved to Michigan last year. Top notch service and the car arrived a few days earlier than expected.

Price/options seem good. Not a steal, but not too high at all.

3. Is there anyone in the Allentown PA area that could take a look at this car for me?
Also post this in the regional section on E90post and M3post. More members than Zpost, and they can look over the car just as well.

Thanks guys, I can't believe this day is already here lol.

I'd look for something with six cylinders on the left coast rather than ship from the east.

Well, a roadtrip to Seattle wouldn't be easy this time of year, you'll probably encounter some snow on your way back.

Looks like a nice car, definitely get a PPI before you buy anything, also I'd suggest you look for extended leather, at least to me the interior feels really cheap and I plan to get the doors and dashboard covered in leather next year since I didn't get one with EL.

1. I did buy out of state and drove home. Never looked back.
2. Depends on your budget and what you're willing to pay.
3. Don't know.

Yep, see the better examples of Z4Ms don't last long on the market. This too happened to me when I bought mine. I was trying to buy one out of state in AZ (low mileage and higher spectrum of price range) and it sold quickly. Still worked out as I found a pratically new Z4M with a little of 5K miles at around the same price. Keep looking you will find one soon.
