So many rattles!
Still new, it got 3000Km and man does this car rattle all over the cabin! Some are in the back, the infamous arm-rest creak, some in the front passanger side, et al. I just cannot pin point exactly where they are coming from.

Switching to non-runflat tires greatly reduced the rattles for me.

Funny because I thought exactly the same thing. But I am afraid that they would do more damage than good if left too long in their hands. My first day at the dealership already damaged the 2 front-side jacking points and now I cannot use them.

I got a 3 series loaner and i noticed how it does not rattle no where near as my 1er. I have the armrest squeak, rear seat rattle and the random rear headliner noises. Drives me nuts.

Did you get them to fix it? If they have messed up jack points I would consider that a serious issue that needs to be resolved. Don't let the dealership get away with shoddy service!

News flash! All cars rattle eventually. Driving, motion, bumps, vibration, engine, heat--all this shit causes the car to develop rattles. Cars these days are just snapped together plastic-fantastic, eventually the plastic will get jolted and start to rattle.
You should drive a Subaru for a while, you would go crazy with how much those things rattle. |

3k miles so far, no rattles at all. Sorry to hear that you're having troubles with it.
Granted, there are some questionably weird / shoddy little details in the cabin (lack of proper floormat hooks, cheap feeling buttons on the rear mirror), but I can't say I'm finding any serious problems yet. |

17,000KM on mine and 8 months and the only time I have rattles in my car is when it comes time to clean the car out. Usually caused by my own junk.

The only rattles I have after 9 months is the Passport radar detector and it's windshield suction mount.

No rattles after 2 1/2 years & 29,000 miles. And while my Passport Solo's suction cups occaisionally refuse to suck, they don't rattle either!

After about a year and a half of driving and 13k miles, I've not experienced any persistent rattles. I do have the known A pillar creak when the car hits large potholes, but I do everything in my power to avoid such occurrences.

It appears build quality varies wildly from car to car, regardless of model or year. Did you order your car or purchase/lease it out of existing inventory? pge |

If you have a door rattle I recommend you banging the door from the outside a few times whilst driving with the window down when you experience it. I did this the other day when it happened for the first time and no noise since Give it a try!

These car are made for good roads, maybe you are just hearing the noise from our wonderful pavement. I feel and hear the smallest imperfection on the road.

I've had pretty much every rattle. I relentlessly bring them up with my dealer until they are fixed. Here's the recent ones:
- Center armrest creak / rattle: Mostly resolved now. Tech used grease, oil, a new armrest, felt, tape, you name it. - Passenger and Driver side armrest / door pocket rattle: Driver side solved; broken clip. Passenger side, still occurs occasionally. - Overhead rattle above drivers head: Resolved after tech used "insulation" between headliner and door sill. - Glovebox piston rattle over bumps: Tech performed a SB on this one; mostly resolved. - Rear seat rattle: Never resolved. Seems to come from the child restraint covers. I open and close them a few times every now and then; this seems to take care of it. - "Air noise" from rear of driver, mainly when shifting: No resolution; tech cant reproduce it, probably thinks I'm crazy. Had a 335i coupe before this; had less, but many rattles as well. Good luck all!

dealer good a good job fixing rattle coming from the passenger side and dashboard. armrest rattle I solved it myself 6 months ago by spraying zaino paint sealant into the hinges! yes, it's an odd solution but it did silent the armrest for good:-)
