X Pipe Fabspeed
Hello
OK or NOT OK to put only a XPIPE FABSPEED without the primary sector(primary school,Primary) FABSPEED on M3 E92? Assembly(Editing) with primary sector(primary school,Primary) OEM only by bolt without cut and weld? Thank you for your help(assistant) |

If you mean re-use your OEM cats on the Fabspeed X-pipe, yes it is possible. You just cut your OEM x-pipe, then clamp it to the Fabspeed X-pipe section.
If that's your plan, I would also suggest the Challenge as possible alternative, just because it costs about the same, challenge has a history of high quality, and it replaces more piping while still re-using your OEM primary cats (so you'd still be cutting, same as the Fabspeed X-pipe). They'll both end up fairly similar in nearly every aspect though. Hopefully Challenge doesn't mind me borrowing stuff from their thread. Features: - Full stainless steel construction - 2.5 in Piping - Twin resonators for noise and drone reduction - Retains factory primary cats - No check engine light - Flanged design for easy installation and upgrade options - 10 wheel hp and 15 ft tq gains with factory exhaust - Increased low end power Last edited by LateBraking; 09-06-2010 at 02:34 PM.. |

With any X-pipe, the noise gets noticeably louder. It depends largely on the mufflers that you have. If you are putting Fabspeed or Challenge X-pipe replacements on your OEM mufflers, seeing that you're still using OEM cats and both X-pipes come with resonators, it should be louder, but probably not enough to anger most police here in the states. Don't know about France though.
Now, if you have this X-pipe setup with Race mufflers, that's probably going to be MUCH louder. |
