The long term goals thread ~
What are your long term goals for your 1 series? I'm talking about how far would go with your 1 but keeping it reasonable.

Pay it off, but we'll see how well that works out for me, haha.
As far as mods, I like to keep it unique but not overdone. Exclusivity is expensive, so getting my hands on those hard to find and limited parts is something I like to do but my wallet hates doing, lol. Eventually I want to start doing the car shows again, I miss it. I dont want to give too much away, but rims, sideskirts, hood, trunk, diffuser, exhaust, engine dress up, maybe performance mods, and some interior bits I am not allowed to talk about yet |

When I was looking at the 135, I was planning on Dinan stage 2 or possibly 3 sometime in it's future.
Now that i'm going with the 128 instead, some suspension tuning will probably be all I do to it and I might (probably not) look into the ECU remap that pulls out the additional HP from the 330 variant of the N52. None of that will happen any time soon though. RFTs of course will have to go and I'll upgrade the stereo too, both in the first year. |

Win D-Stock Autocross in my region this year on runflats.... Then switch to STU next season and dominate that.
Already ran a time fast enough to win STU last event in factory stock trim with runflats so well on my way to that goal

Consistent Sub 12.5 quarter miles and then make it into a reliable track monster. All while maintaining stock reliability.

Mid 11's while still being a good dd, and set up for autocross/road course.
All I need is bigger turbo's and a clutch. Also clean it up a bit with icarbon goodies

The 135 is my DD and bought it new 6 mos ago. Im in no hurry to do anything now. I have been looking at the Dinan Stage II for the future. We'll see what performance kits are newly available in a couple of years.
What Im really hoping for now is that the upcoming 1M comes with the N54 and has so go fast goodies that will easily bolt on earlier 135's. Especially better breathing turbos. M cars are know for high reving hp. I expect the 1M to make much better hp above 5000rpm. |

Forged internals, Vanos locked out with High-end cams/valves/springs, redone cylinder head, Garrett GTX4202, maybe a small shot of nitrous to help spool, meth injection, and a fuel cell for race gas only.

I finally finished my car aesthetically (see my garage), and I will focus on performance once my car is out of warranty. I won't go past bolt-on's though.

I have done the mods I want except LSD, which I'm still considering because I hate the price. I will consider new wheels when I need new tires. I will consider meth and DPs in 3 years when my warranty expires. My next car will probably be a 2016 or 2017 1M.

I would like to add every BMW performance part! Basically I am missing brake calipers and wheels. However I dont think the BMW Performance front end works with my Dinan intake and my girlfriend doesnt like the stripes she thinks they are cheesy... so maybe every functional part

the sky is the limit and time will tell. I'd like to keep it looking like a sleeper though, which shouldn't be too hard with this car fortunatly.
considering i have the areo kit side skirts and the difuser, it still looks like a stock car more power, better handling, and less weight, i want performance, but invisible performance. |

The BMW Performance suspension will be on mine at delivery. Other than that, the MOST I would have done is an LSD, the M3 front suspension pieces, the M3 rear bushings, the M3 anti-roll bars, a spoiler, and a diffuser. And, of course, the removal and ceremonial burning of the run-flats. (just kidding about the burning, environuts).

After years of modifying my e36, I'm over it. That's why I bought the 135i. It's an awesome car, right out of the box. I don't have time to track the car, and I'll only make it to one autocross per season.
My long term goal is keeping this car in excellent stock condition, mainly the paint. I get more satisfaction from detailing the car than anything else.
