Poll-LSD or coilovers?
Ok. I need opinions people! I've found a deal on a Quaife LSD and on a set TC Kline coil-overs. Unfortunately, I can only afford to do one of these upgrades right now so give me your opinions. If there is someone who has done both suspension and LSD, what do you think was the better money spent?
Thanks |

do you track the car a lot?
you live in CA, a place where inclement weather is infrequent, the suspension will be the best mod since it will have the biggest impact on the car. i would say do suspension and do the LSD later

Both will help tremendously on both the track and sweet. However, you may not need the LSD yet if you are currently doing fine with traction.

LSD will barely make any difference, but you have to get TCKline coilovers. A car can not change this much with this simple investment. YOU WILL LOVE IT. Daily drive was it is phenomenal and you really question why bmw engineers won't do this from the start.. then you setup your rebound and compression to track settings.. OH MY GOD. Car turns into a beast on handling, so balanced.
Call Erik. He will help you tremendously. 614-771-7744

I have both. If you have good tires and the weather is warm (which helps traction), you won't need the LSD much. Coilovers provide a huge cosmetic benifit of allowing the car to be lowered as well as improved ride performance. Coils were among my first mods and that's how I'd do it if I were you.

I got coilovers but... if you plan on drag racing get the LSD first, coilovers if you plan on track racing instead. If neither then go with coilovers it'll give you better handeling and a more agressive look.

Suspension first. Get Sway bar, and then coilovers.
LSD will help you put power down, so corner exit will feel great. But, because of stock's body roll, you might not be as confident to power out a corner even with a LSD. Oh, I hope you've ditch your run crap tires already, coz I won't even put money on suspension until I ditch those crappy tires. |
