New HPFP #933 going in
My 135i is getting a new hpfp today part #933. Dealer tells me this is the latest.
Is this the old pump? I was hoping to get the #943 as it would be latest? Last edited by BMW86; 08-24-2010 at 05:50 PM.. |

pump #933 is actually a newer pump than the #943. interestingly, the #933 is remanufactured, meaning it's not a brand new pump. i think the newest version of the hpfp is #402. hope this helps

i have a #933, which clearly states on the paperwork that it's a remanufactured pump. i'm pretty sure i'll need a new pump in another 20k miles or so, that seems to be the trend on my car. no word if the #402 is expected to do any better than the previous models. my suspicion is they will fail in time, too, just like every other model of pump. i think the issue is more than just the fuel pump, bmw just replaces the pumps since it's cheaper and easier. i have no idea what the root cause is, however, but there's plenty of indication that it's more than the hpfp at fault. |

Is the newest pump #933? EDIT: Just a sway off topic, I have replaced Fuel Injectors in a couple of my previous cars and I thought my last car was pricey at ~$130 per injector. I was just poking around realoem.com (checking if they had the 402 pump listed) and saw our injectors are $309 A PIECE!! I don't know the outlook for DI injectors but...sheesh...hope I don't have to replace them ever.
