Positive One Experiences
Ok, just like it says in the title. Please, no more HPFP or any other moans. List something about your 1 that just makes you smile or heart beat faster.
-the 6 MT is amazing. I love shifting from 2nd to 3rd, especially out of a tight turn and the back end is just about to break loose. |

I just bought a 128i cabrio last week. It has the M Sport package, and looks and handles great. It's a tight car, quiet when the roof is up, and drives very smoothly. So far, I am thrilled. The more I test it out, the more I like it. Even the run flat tires are ok, and seem to have better grip than expected. The trunk is cavernous (my old car was a MINI and my other car is a Lotus, so put that in perspective.."). All the "features" and options seem to work better than expected, and the only things I am adding are a cold air intake and strut brace from BMW. Hopefully installed by this weekend.
Update: I have since installed the BMW Performance Intake, exhaust and Coilover suspension from KW. Now the car looks, sounds and drives even better. Very composed, nice growly noise at is not too loud. It is a great car so far. Oh, and I did the intermediate oil change myself, and it was the easiest one ever. Things I love about my 1:
-The interior and driving position has a nice intimate feel to it, almost like a glove the fits your hand perfectly (the sport seats are amazing!!!) -The exterior styling is great, I love looking at the lines and curves on the back and side of the car -Amazing handling: Driving it is almost intuitive and it loves to attack corners and windy roads -Throttle is smooooooth -MPG isn't too horrible for six cylinder...21 MPG with mix of city and highway and AC always on auto (car hasn't been fully broken in yet though, 1100 miles) Things I dislike about my 1: -The front of the car looks kinda eh...not exactly pretty imo -It doesn't like to cruise or go at a constant speed so to speak...hard to explain, can anyone else elaborate? |

The thing I keep looking and liking more and more is the wide flare on the upper part of the side of the 1.
It sets it apart from a lot of other cars. I like it. |

Moving to a 135 from a 335 step sedan is just soooo.... Invigorating! Just got mine last Thursday and all I wanna do is drive the little monster. It's quick, it's tight, it looks fit and muscular like an english bulldog, and I don't 1ers coming and going here in LA where everyone drives a 3, an A4/A5 or a C-class.
The first night I got it I walked down the street for dinner with a friend, came home pretty loaded and sat on the floor of my garage staring at it and sitting in the driver's seat. Took it out on Mulholland Drive a couple days later and just smiled ear to ear... The character line that bozola mentioned is a really great bit of design... |

-allaccess, hahah that's great. The first night I got mine, I purposely worked in my garage til 2am. Just to be around her. My wife laughed her arse off.
-another performance positive: the low end torque will spoil you. I love it. When I drive other cars, I assume they all have it, but...nope. |

Things I love:
- The lines. Everyone compliments it's design. From people passing by in the parking lot to other racers at autocross events - The engine. Does not need explanation - The DCT. It's flawless. - The handling. I've only done 3 autocross events in the 135i and I've already taken 2 class wins (1 2nd) and this past event, I was faster than all the STU (modified suspension, bolt on power, wider street tires, etc.) cars with my show room stock 135 with run flat tires. - It's a total sleeper. Not many people know about the 1 series, or how quick they really are. - Low end torque. Can't beat 300+ lb ft at 1200 rpm. Have yet to drive a car that compares. - My color combo. I love LMB/Lemon. Things I don't like - Nothing yet!

Just got home from driving Sunset Blvd from Hollywood to the ocean at 2am. No traffic. No cops. Pure fun. Still breaking her in (300 miles in 5 days of possession - oh and I work at home!) but without breaking a sweat this car is so much more confidence inspiring than anything else I've driven... Can't stop grinning! Showed her off to some buddies and all were impressed with the lines, the size, the attitude, the specs...
Funny thing is that at least 4 other hot rodded 3 series coupes were going in the other direction. One jackass had a flat tire (heard it before I even saw him come around the bend) and was not slowing down... |

It is finally cooling down a little in SC and I came in with the top down this morning. Just as I got to the entrance ramp to the highway I got clear of traffic and could go 7/10 up the ramp and around the couple turns. It's nice to be going above the speed limit while still on the ramp despite the turns.
It was also nice to quickly move around a silly pickup pulling a trailer that right turned on red just as the light changed. A quick jog ahead of a SUV in the left lane and I was around him. I only got up around 4,000 rpm. Nice to have some power in reserve for situations like this. Jim

I like the exhaust note when you start the thing up, and my favorite thing about this car is how it feels like a skate when you are driving around the twisty back roads! And the attention that it gets, it gets more attention than a 335i.

I also like the delivery with the twin turbo setup. No lag and a flatter, higher TQ curve than the V8 M3. Midrange acceleration on the hwy is pretty damn good. Surprised quite a few cars who thought wrongly it would be a cake walk getting past it. |

I love pushing that little round button and hearing that sweet inline 6 fire up with its distinctive sound that is just so lovely. ( Doesn't hurt that I have underground parking either ).
I also like it when you happen to park on the steet at like a strarbucks or somemthing and while sitting on the patio, you hear the odd person go buy and say " man, that is a nice car". Never hurts to hear compliments about your car every now and then. Even if it isn't being said directly to you. |
