Remus race and fabspeed xpipe
I am getting a Remus race exhaust and thinking about pairing it up with a fabspeed xpipe. What do you guys think? I know a bunch of people have this setup. Is it a good combination? What's the difference between the xpipe with the resonators only and the one with resonators and secondary cat delete? What provides more power?
I am also going to get a power chip tune soon after so what do you guys suggest as far as xpipe choice? Thanks!

Well I went with the Encore Innovation Xpipe and HFC with resonators. should have gone with the Fabspeed or DINAN because I'm a bit disapointed in the construction of how the pipes mate up with the headers. The rest of the pipe is fine.
Anyway, mine is mated up with Remus Sport, I know your looking at the Remus Race. But a few things. Sound: Is increadible, people here me coming from way down a street and all say it sounds real good. I'm glad I went with the Remus Sport, it would have been pretty damn loud with the Remus Race as that was my original plan. Power: No dyno charts to prove it but low end, it's got a good kick and noticably more than stock. RPM's rev up real fast in my opinion. CEL's: Your going with software so you'll get around that problem. But my CEL's for "increased emissions" come on when using ROZ 98 at military bases here in Europe. When I gas off base, now i"m in Germany and use ESSO super plus ROZ 98 and haven't gotten a CEL in almost 3 weeks. Before I was getting them almost two times a day and had to plug my CANBUS II reader n and delete them almost daily. Real pain in the ass when it's daily. So my advice, go with the sport. The db level will be tolerable and you'll get the same amount of power. Some may argue the Race will give you a tiny bit more but will you even be able to tell? Loudness is maybe an issue or maybe not. So up to you. Note, at some trackdays in the UK, the test db levels and I was at 105db at 6,500 rpm noise test. Good luck! |

fab speed +1
Remus much drone Get something else, eisenman, akra slip on, ther are many. When I had my Remus and fabspeed, the drone rattled my teeth and dashboard out from 2500-4000 rpm Don't let anyone fool you, you get about 2hp from the Remus boxes so not even that is noticeable, and it's heavy and you must cut your oem connecting pipes off your stock muffler which is just not cool Here's my thread but unfortunately I deleted the videos off you tube. Comments are there though http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=336517 Last edited by Bob MG; 08-23-2010 at 11:49 PM.. |

I do have some drone at about that rpm range. Nothing terrible, but would probebly be much worse with a Remus race. As for cutting the end pipes to the Remus race. I don't see the big issue. Once you install what ever axle back you get, not many people are gonna keep the stock "suitcase" muffler around. Most exhaust mufflers on the market for many makes of cars require cutting and welding. At least the Remus comes with clamps. Clean cut and screw them on. Really not this big deal many make it out to be. Hell, I think cutting the transmission heat sheild just to accomodate the O2 sensors on an a performance X-pipe was a bigger deal. But each their own. Good luck with your purchase. I'm sure ANY axle back joined up with the Fabspeed will sound great. |

I appreciate the advice, but IMO the Remus Sport is way too quiet. Im looking for something a bit more on the loud side. I am not sure when I am going to purchase the X-pipe, so even if its just the exhaust by itself, I want something loud in the mean time.
But now I am extremely confused as to what exhaust I should go with. I have roughly $2,000 to spend on mods right now. I've narrowed down my choices and need some help. Remus Race with Fabspeed X-pipe and Powerchip stage I tune Remus Race (just the axle back) and Powerchip stage I tune Gintani Race (just the axle back) and Powerchip stage I tune Meisterschaft GT2 (just the axle back) and Powerchip stage I tune I don't know if its worth getting a Powerchip tune with JUST the axle back and no X-pipe. And just to clarify, i'm looking for both sound and performance. This is tougher than I had imagined it to be. Any thoughts??

That's what I was thinking. Doesn't really make sense to tune with just an axle back. I am going GINTANI! Already made the decision.
