6MT to DCT conversion?

I own a 6MT E90 M3, and was just wondering is it possible to convert it into a DCT..
6MT has been lots of fun, but I'm ready for a change.

Anything is possible with a lot of money...You would spend less if you sold your M3 and bought another DCT M3...

trade in on a ZCP M3 with a DCT instead, it will probably be cheaper than switching the trannys

Sell yours and get a used M3 dct.... If you tried to swap trannies, not only would you spend a fortune, probably void your warranty, and possibly have lots of transmission problems, but you will also kill your car's resale value.

Yeah that would be wayyyyy to complicated...as the DCT ties in to so much other parts of the car...the software components alone would be ridiculous...and you're just tearing up your car

Just trade up...not only do you get a new transmission...but a new car! Get to start all over again.

What about converting my coupe into a sedan? What else would I need besides two more doors?

Seriously, it would be quite expensive to convert. Like others have said, it would be easier to just trade your in on a DCT car.

and this is being conservative. i think it's more like you'd never be able to sell it.

Its possible! I was able to do it.. the Kit is available at the dealership, just ask for a trade-in. Takes no time at all.

Trade your M3 for the M3 DCT version and do a Performance Center Delivery at Greer SC. I've done 2 PCDs already, both M3 and M5.

new computer(s), new wiring harness, new mounting hardware, new bellhousing...

if you had a wrecked DCT M3 you could source parts from and if you were an electronics genius with good mechanical skills you could probably pull it off. But otherwise you're better off just getting a DCT car from the factory.
