Shadowline grills with chrome window trim?!?

All,

When I recently purchased my car, it was the only 6mt in the region and therefore I did not have the option of the M-sport package unless I wanted to order a car. In all honesty, I love the way the car looks, as the chrome trim looks amazing with the deep sea blue color. My question is, has anyone installed the shadowline grills while leaving the window trimming in chrome? I wonder if they will conflict, since the chrome grills match the window trimming very well as it sits.

All opinions are welcome! Thank you!

I've seen it done but have you considered wrapping the chrome trim in gloss vinyl to match?

On your car I think the chrome grill would probably work better. My main reason for switching to the shadowline grill was to match the trim, so I guess I sot of think the two should match.

That said, if you think the grill is just TOO chrome, you do have a third option, and that is to go with the stock grill off of a 128. They have black slats with chrome surrounds, and IMO look better than the 135 grill with chrome slats. If you're interested and don't want to buy new, I can sell you my old set or you can look around the classifieds section.

Hey there,

I've been reading about people wrapping them in vinyl, however, when I think of "wrapping in vinyl" first thing that comes to mind are Neons and Civics (no offense to anybody). Maybe I just need to see a finished product in order to consider it!

I will be honest and say that I actually love the way the chrome looks on the window trim with the color of my car - it actually isn't "chrome" but almost like a brushed aluminum without the brush strokes. It looks extremely elegant and classy, but maybe not so much in other colors which is why people want to get rid of it. I was just wondering if they would conflict or if anyone has done it before; I'm sure it wouldn't look bad at all.

I will absolutely consider this. Let me do some more research and if I decide to go this route you'll be the first one in mind. Thanks again!
