There's a bit out there--just search. Here's one hit from the search I ran. As with most exhausts other than the Akrapovic or Dinan, it's loud and it drones.
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...ight=magnaflow What are you after? More volume but no drone? The cheapest route is to modify the stock exhaust. There's a thread on that--here's a vid of the mod with a link to the modification "how to" thread. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...t+modification |

i cant speak for the magnaflow for e9x applications, but i have magnaflow mufflers welded on my car. They are very very loud, and drone like crazy with the windows up. But they do sound luscious. I always drive with windows down anyway so i absolutely love them

Magnaflow isnt the way to go in term of drone and with your budget, id consider a used AA system maybe. if all you want is volume youre best off doing electric exhaust cutouts and some different tips to clean up the look. check out this thread. I believe this set up came to about 700 dollars and theres zero drone. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=414103

Dinan, about 2.2K. Those are the only two I know of w/o drone. The S65 motor tends to drone. The stock muffler and the Dinan has helmholtz chamber to neutralize the drone. The Akra (TI) doesn't drone either. The AA has the chamber as well, but the experience seems to be mixed, and it's really loud from reviews. If you just want more volume then modifying the stock exhaust is the best bet. Cheap (200-400) dollars. It involves cutting the stock muffler open, removing the "fur", patching some internal pipes. See the thread I left in my first response. This is probably the best way to increase volume w/o drone and keep your pocketbook intact. |

I would never use Magnaflow. My friend had them on his 2002 Mustang GT and they were barely louder than stock and made no power. If you want an affordable system then Borla is the way to go.You can get it through Jegs catalog or Turner for a great price. They offer 2 systems.Touring and Race. Race is there very loud aggresive mufflers,Touring is a little quiter but def mean. Its also real trick, they actually put 2 mufflers on each side and the tips are basically the same size as stock. The really wakes up with the X-pipe and HFC or resonators.Sound and measurable power. Most exhaust will be the same HP gains but some are a different type of exhaust note.

If you can only afford a freaking Magnaflow system on your M3, please do yourself a favor and leave it stock . Just paint the muffler black and call it a day. Looks great that way .
