LA exhaust owners...opinions needed
Hey folks,
im interested in getting an exhaust and im looking for a couple things. Living in LA the cops have always been as ass here with modified cars. Im looking for exhaust with a power bump and an exhaust that is not so loud under 4k or so however when needed after that it screams! Im really thinking of a eisenmann race, what do you folks think? Ive never heard one in person but i love the youtube video of one. BTW i wont be added an x pipe. What about the gintani race? I just dont feel like getting in trouble. The M wont be an everyday car, and in city wont really proly never need to go over 4k. Also i would like to it to sound more exotic then a v8 stang. Thank you |

Any sport exhaust will do (Remus, Eisenmann, Super Sprint). Maybe even the B&B, Encore, Bastuck, or Agency Power. Don't expect huge power gains if it's only an axle back / slip on. A full system will give you a slight raise but then you'd have to worry bout the LAPD jumping down on your throat.

Active Autowere Signature Exhaust
The Active Autowerke Signature E9X M3 Exhaust System gives a sweet F1 Sound that can be addictive to some.

Ive had the Gintani race for about 2 years now, and so far no trouble yet.. knock on wood. If you have a chance come down to the shop and hear it for yourself.
There is always the Gintani sport, which won't get you into any trouble. |

Even though I'm not in LA I have heard the Eisenmann race in person and boy does that thing sound awesome. It really isn't that loud unless you really get on the throttle. It has a nice quiet yet exotic idle. I think the Eisenmann sounds awesome. IMO.

Nowadays, disposable income being what it is, REMUS is my only choice. I've owned several on my past Bimmers, and they are all consistent sounding, and for me they seemed to keep that same sound level for most of their life. Some systems sound one way for the first 6 months or so, and then a little later they're way louder, or raspier or some such thing. Also, one I had on my E30 325is, a bracket weld broke, and the guys at REMUS took care of it immediately, I've been a fan ever since. Love the one on my E 36 M3 I'm now in. I'm still looking for the right deal on a used E92 M3, and I'm going w/ either REMUS "race" - a little louder - or "sport" - a little quieter - as soon as I get one. For around $1.4K, they're a steal. I could spend more, but why? I hear they make the O.E.M. ones for a bunch of German factories, probly helps 'em keep the costs in line. That's my 2 cents, anyway.

You should be a little weary in California! I've had three different appointments with the Smog Referee on three different occasions. Our state is broke and they're going to get the money one way or another. The Remus Race is great exhaust setup that really accentuates the raw sound of the M3, but at the same time is not absurdly loud where you'll catch the attention of the local law enforcement. Besides, it sounds sweet and it's affordable! You may want to look into our recently released system for the new E9X M3. I have posted a few pictures and a link for reference. If you are in the area, I can have a car for you to hear as well. www.aeperformance.com for more info Products>BMW>M3 Section 3 System This system has a ton of class, isn't too loud, but definitely opens up under WOT. With reviews like our 335i system, it is going to be the top contender for M3 systems on the market with time. Feel free to call me or email me with any questions, we would be glad to help!
