I wasn't in the market for this but AA's special was too good to pass up. It looks like a good kit for the money. I appreciate the stud mounts and jet nuts over the bolts that came on the Brembo GT kit for my Cayman S, this method shouldn't strip out the adapter. The stud kit is an added option on Brembos.

I'll install it this weekend and report back. So far I'm impressed. The pics show a BMW Williams F1 carbon/carbon rotor and F1 Pankl forged titanium con rod for a size comparison, the 380mm rotors are just enormous... and the rod is tiny.

Those look sweet. They should make all their calipers look like that.

Beautiful looking kit! Can you confirm that the front rotor is a 380 X 32mm rotor as opposed to the 380 X 35mm rotor used on their standard 6-pot kits?

The front is 35mm thick, which I believe is what's advertised.

Thanks for confirming. The literature and specs listed on various sources online are confusing. For instance, going to Stoptech's page for wheel fitment templates, you'll notice the following listing: "E90 & E92 M3 2008-2009, Front 380x35 ST-60". However, clicking on that yields a template PDF that says "BMW M3 E92 '09 FRONT 380x32 - ST60".

Zeckhausen's site lists the standard 6-pot front kit as a 380x35, yet they list the Trophy kit as a 380x32. These discrepancies are all over the place so I'm just looking for some definitive measurements from someone with the kit.

The Trophy kit has some metal trimmed off, and so they looks really good. Now it looks like the trophy may have a little thinner rotor too. There are also two Trophy systems, one without dust boots and one with dust boots.
According to a a Roudel article last month, they're all forged calipers.

Yup StopTech prides itself by having forged, two-piece aluminum calipers with a steel bridge to increase caliper stiffness.

Shaved off in the sense that they don't last as long, or that they are just lighter than the regular version. Other than this, any other differences? I noticed the diff caliper color too...

Shaved off in terms of more weight optimization (more engineering) and more machining (higher cost). Caliper reliability should not change.

They are basically a lighter version of the standard, in addition to the apparent decrease in disc thickness and paint scheme.

ST probably designed these for race applications and then saw a market for the street cars.

They're lighter.
Here's the Roundel article: http://roundel.imirus.com/Mpowered/i...ssue=5&page=88

Thanks man.

P.S. Wheels (C10s) should be coming in soon - they f'ed up and sent them to the powdercoater again by mistake wasting a few extra days...ahhhh.

The fasteners bolting the caliper halves together are different. The regular kit uses a bolt into threaded caliper bodies, you can see the Trophy uses a thru bolt and nut. My guess would be to get higher clamping forces to compensate for the decrease in caliper material.

Stoptech technical support looked up the part numbers and said the trophy race/sport front 380mm rotors are 35mm. Either Zeck has a typo or are selling a slightly different spec kit. I'm fine with it either way.
