Auto night mode for sat nav?
question is there a way to make the sat nav switch automatically to night mode without having to enable it from the options? you would think BMW is smart enough to implement the feature to turn on with the lights or something ....

Not sure there is. For awhile, I had a radio preset programmed to switch to night mode, but I realized it's actually not too bad to leave it as it is at night. There's a light sensor next to the screen that detects ambient light and adjusts the screen brightness accordingly, so I've never found the screen to be distracting at night.

There is an Automatic Day/Night mode setting in the new iDrive (MY2009-on) deep in its coding but it is not functional:
I do not know how to fully activate this feature yet, but it is in the CIC variables list. |
