BMW x5 with 4.8L V8 motor number location

Hi all.

I cannot get any BMW dealer to advise me on the location of the motor number on a X5 I am looking at.

Does anyone know where it is/what it may look like?

I don't remember looking for that info myself but is the user manual giving that information?

Is there actually a unique serial number for the engine as well? I thought there was only an engine type number like N54, S65.
