maybe 285/35/18 in the back (smaller diameter though), but that may look a little weird. 275/40/18 should be no problem (slightly larger diameter though).
same for front -20mm |

For 9.5" max is 285.

Considering some autocrossers are squeezing 285/30-18 DOT R-compounds on 8.5" wheels (which have much stiffer sidewalls and run wider than PS2's), I'd say a 295/35 with taller sidewalls should fit on a 9.5" just fine. Fender clearance I have no idea about, but I'm 100% confident that you can get a 295/35-18 on an 18x9.5" wheel without doing any unnatural acts.
