HELP: 130i m sport ride height.
Hey guys, I recently just bought my first BMW. I was lucky enough to be the 3rd owner of my 130i m-sport. However, I noticed that my rear suspension seem to be lower than the front? the front has around a 3 finger gap while the rear has less than 2 fingers gap... I took it to my bmw dealer and asked them to check the ride height, but they said it is the right height because it is the sport suspension. However it doesnt seem right to me because, going over bumps, the rear seems to ride significantly harder than the front...
does anyone know if there is anything wrong with my car? p.s. the previous owner added 1 degree neg camber... not sure if that consequently lowers the ride. Thanks guys. |

Maybe the rear springs have just sagged/settled a bit?
You could try and repace the rear shocks and see IF that helps. My old 323i with 120km when I swicthed over to Bilstein HD's it ended up raising the car about 2cm's! The old shocks were shot, even though the car drove Ok. Not great though. I would changed the shocks first since that is the cheapest. Or... better yet remove one and compress the shaft/piston and see how fast it recovers. I bet you have a blown shock. Good Luck, David Last edited by Dackelone; 03-22-2010 at 01:58 PM.. |

Maybe this will help.
Pictures taken of the ride height of my 130i when it had std. M Sport suspension. It's normal that the front has bigger gap than rear.
