I posted this question on the M3 forum but probably the question is best asked here instead.
As everyone will be aware we have had numerous threads that compare the M3 with either the 335i or 135i and the argument always go along the lines of the M is superior by design simply because it's got the superior development from M-Division that can't easily be overcome through the use of aftermarket kits. Well what argument can possibly be given when the 1M is launched? After all it developed by M themselves, it has an engine that is not only turboed but will from the basis of the next M3 and is lighter and thus more focused. How will this little M effect the sales of it's bigger brother? Last edited by footie; 03-21-2010 at 05:54 AM.. |

Correct and if you look across the net you will see quite a few asking the same question. Though the TT-RS and RS5 use different awd systems and behave totally different because of this, the 1M and M3 follow the same basic formula and as such the comparison is more relevant. But then again Audi people are more intune with FI engine where as BMW M owners are the opposite.
I can't wait to see how this comparison plays out in real life. |
