help a newb who got suckered out
Brand new to the forum. Bought a 2010 jerez black on black m3 two days ago. I love the paint, and would like to keep it that way. I paid for the resistall and it is being applied to the car as we speak (take is easy on me please ) I told them not to apply it to the interior, only exterior.
Did I mess up my paint by doing this? Or is it a good sealant, just not worth the money. Can I wax my car after applying this? I also just purchased a crs spotless water treatment machine http://crspotless.com/. Any advice from this point on keeping my jerez black swirl free . Is the jerez black easier to keep clean than the jet black? Thanks guys |

You got ripped just like I did. These types of products are just overpriced treatments. The dealer wouldn't give me my money back so had them apply it three times until they got it right. I followed their treatment after it had failed with a good clean, claybar and wax that was recommended by many in this forum ( i think it was Zymol but I could be wrong). For the interior, you can use Leatherique for conditioning and protection.
I wash my ///M periodically followed by a detail (wax) every three months or so...and I still get swirls. I have a JB e92 coupe. -SZ |

It won't hurt your paint finish, but it is a complete waste of money. Simply keeping a good coat of wax on the finish provides more protection.

boother, look at detailed image for the CRSpotless system.
their sealant didnt hurt the paint, just your wallet! Lets just hope they arent covering up a bunch of buffer trails and holograms with the sealant! jerez black is MUCH easier than Jet Black! But its still a tough one! ONR will be your friend, as well as a foam gun for when the car is really dirty! Remember, maintanence is key, fixing is much more involved! |

ONR = optimum no rinse! Here is a little article my buddy wrote up for Detailedimage
http://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-P...imum-no-rinse/ I use ONR all the time. It saves water, instills little to no marring considering, is better for the environment, and is pretty fast/efficient. plus now with the new version out, it is said to be slicker and glossier, and smell better! |

ONR? While I've always assumed it would work great as a regular wash, the traditional "suds" products are what I've always used. I just bought a gallon of Maxi Suds so maybe when I run out of that, I'll try the ONR!
