Short Meisterschaft GTS review
I got the Meisterschaft GTS exhaust today and installed it. I wish it came with all the hardware needed for the install. 2 of the exhaust hangers are actually bolted onto the muffler but the oem muffler has nuts that are welded on. I had to run around looking for a bolt and nut that would work. The left exhaust is also hugging the right side of the opening in the bumper (I'll attempt to fix this tomorrow).
I haven't heard any other exhausts on the e92 but this exhaust is LOUD below 3k rpm. Its almost obnoxiously loud. I used to have various hks, greddy, tanabe exhausts on my Hondas in the past and this exhaust is louder than any of those. I'll try to post a longer review with pictures and video sometime this week. *EDIT* It's not as loud this morning as I remember it being last night but hitting the gas with the windows rolled up is still pretty loud with a heavy low drone. Both sets of tips are hugging the right side of the opening but not touching. It looks like the whole exhaust is shifted to the right. Last edited by isabayo; 11-14-2009 at 09:59 AM.. |

I installed mine at a diy garage with lifts, tools, etc... The garage had many bolts nuts washers etc but not anywhere close to the selection of a hardware store. I'll measure the oem bolt tomorrow but It was about 2.5 - 3" long. I found a bolt and nut that was close to the oem length and used that. TIP, if you're installing this yourself, unbolt all the exhaust hangers from the car, its must easier to get the rubber hangers off that way.

Im planning to do this by myself, yeah i was thinking about just removing them and then popping them off with wd-40 would be easier. i wonder why they would make an exhaust and not give us hardware. I remember paying only 400 dollars for an exhaust on my lexus gs400. and it came with evvvverything!

Same here. It was one of my choices but I was going to wait until a forum member purchased. I'm looking for a quiet exhaust or something equivalent to the "sport" exhausts.

honestly if you want a quiet but really fast exhaust its Akrapovic
it produces just about the same amount of HP as the cattless ones.

I found that they made a sport version called the HP Touring. It's supposedly right under the GT and GTR in sound level.

I got my left muffler to line up pretty well in the exhaust cutout but the right muffler is still hugging the right side. Not sure if this is a manufacturing defect but one bracket on the left muffler is slightly bent to allow the tips to be centered in the opening while the identical bracket on the right side is not bent causing it to hug the right side of the opening. Pictures are posted below. The mufflers are a little low because I'm going to be putting on a rear diffuser in the next few days, I didn't want the exhaust tips to melt the diffuser. This is the left muffler bracket: Heres the identical bracket on the right muffler: and some installed photos |

Damn, if my mufflers look like that, I'd much rather have the RPi system.

day1, maybe if you put some think washers on the inside of that bracket on the right, it could center it:-) and make it further from the right, bc that looks really close.
