135i mute button on steering wheel?
Okay, I might be stupid, but every car I've owned thus far, when it has radio controls on the steering wheel, has a MUTE button. Am I missing something really obvious here? I can push the button with the speaking commands thing, but that's not what I want. I want to be able to silence my radio without taking my hands off the steering wheel. Is this possible? Am I "off my rocker"?? Can't find anything in the manual.

mute button
Thanks. I already do that but figured with all the configurations that BMW would have thought of putting the MUTE on the steering wheel... They have recirculate air on the steering, sheesh. I used my MUTE on my Gti and mazdaspeed 3 all the time.

Maybe there is a way in the manual that will allow you to customise the buttons on the steering wheel so that the recirculate AC button can be changed to mute? Just a thought. If this works please let me know how as I'm interested too lol

You can hold the volume-down button for a couple seconds, or you can press the button that changes between radio/cd/aux. Of course that only works if one of those three isn't playing anything.
