Lowering is a requirement ... especially with aftermarket wheels.

slam it, you wont regret it...looks so much more aggressive. The ride quality surprisingly didnt suffer that much, feels 90% stock. Just a tab stiffer...

I'm still on the fence about lowering mine. I go through a lot of ramps and speed bumps on a daily basis. I don't think I can live with creeping in on an angle on a daily basis. Although I really do love the look of it being slammed.

If they find a problem with your car linked to the springs then yes, but what are the chances. The dealer won't give you a problem if theres nothing wrong.

I had the same dilema as you did, but i just pulled the trigger and couldnt be happier. Its really not that bad, i go over the same speed bumps/bumps in road/etc and i can barely notice a difference. Now that i got my front lip on, there is only 1 undergound parking lot that I cant access...other than that no problems so far, and i love the look.

That's another reason not to pull the trigger. I was leaning towards Eibachs for a conservative drop but just the though of the SA blaming the lowering springs for a blown EDC kit is just too troublesome for me. I recently placed spacers on my car and normal non-fantics comment on how it looks dropped.

Lower the car guy, that 4x4 factory look is not going to cut it.

If you are going to put new wheels on the car, then once again the drop is a must.

I think the car is plenty low enough stock. 19" wheel fill the wheel wells really nicely. I won't be lowering myself. I have seen many M3 here on the forum that are way way too low. That is form over function which is not very M3-ish.

Before lowering, also consider your visits to the dealership, car alignment shop, wheel/tire shop. Will you be able to get on their respective lifts without scraping? I know when I was lowered in a Eclipse GST, I had a hell of a time getting service anywhere. It's that alignment machine where you have to climb up those very steep ramps that's scary, especially if you are running a front lip of some sort.

Dinan is the conservative approach. 1/2" drop and they augment the factory warranty. Together with spacers, it makes a huge appearance difference, with virtually no ride penalty.

True, i though of the same thing, and i just put my 3d lip on! I guess im going to wrap it up in two layers of painters tape...

I contemplated lowering for a while, and I encountered a few problems.

Firstly, I didn't want to destroy the ride quality. H&Rs seem to be pretty stiff according to most people on this forum. I also have a personal friend who did H&Rs on his M5 and he said the ride became very bouncy and cheapened the feel of the car.

Secondly, The offset of my rears will get me into trouble with a lowered car. 19x10.5s +25 on 295/30 PS2s.

I don't want to alter the stock M3 too much, and I'm not tracking it so my vote for the best option is the Dinan springs.
