Parking brake maintenance

Was reading through the manual and came across this:

"To prevent corrosion and one-sided braking action, occasionally apply the parking brake lightly when the vehicle is slowly coming to a stop if the traffic conditions are suitable."

So I thought I'd give it a try today. Anyway, just wondering if anyone does this and how often, i.e. after how many miles?

Interesting. I guess I'll try this out since I've never done it before.
