Attention Eibach Owners

Im looking into these springs since they arn't as an agressive drop as H&R or RD, but I was wondering do you find yourself scraping at all? I had coilovers on my 335 and at first I had them to low and it was a big pain in the ass going through speed bumps and driveways (that was will i had them adjusted) after the adjustment I only really had to drive sideways into driveways if they were really fked up. Anyways judging by a lot of the pictures i've seen on the eibachs, the drop looked similar to my 335 to where I would be happy.

So with the Eibachs did you have to alter your driving style completely or just slightly?

Drop is great, no scrapping issues. Reduction in body roll, squat and dive; and improve steering feel are better than the improved looks. IMHO

Cheers

Just Dropped on Eibachs

So just got back a while ago from dropping on Eibachs.

First Impressions:

Looks- Drop is nice, definitely noticeable even before they settle without being too low. To me, it is a perfect drop. I don't foresee any issues with scrapeing with the new springs.

Ride- In comfort it is the same. Normal is a tad stiffer in a good way. This is probably how the car should be stock. Sport is stiffer still, but still not harsh at all. Body roll is definiely reduced and the car handling is sharper. The grip of the car seems to be a bit off, but that is due to the car needing to be aligned to optimize the suspension geometry again. That will be done in a week or so after the springs have settled. It should only feel even better than it does now.

With the drop though, the car really looks like it needs spacers. The drop exxagerates how much the fenders hang over the wheel. I am waiting for my custom offset RAC wheels and that will resolve all issues with that. Can't wait!

I will post some pictures soon, but all in all very happy with the decision. This will tide me over until EDC compatible coilovers come out.

Cool.

Hey Ben, where did you get it installed? I'm thinking of going Eibach's as well as the drop is not as aggressive as H&R, RDSports...

I know a tech that does work for me on the side. He installed the springs this afternoon. You won't regret the Eibachs. H&R is just a bit too low for me in the front and you will scrape. For a daily driver it just is not practical. I need to be able to get in and out of garages and driveways.

Is there a proper way to break springs in for them to look lower/better etc?

Which spacers do you reccomend? (MM and Company)

and what else do I needa know when getting my springs installed, as for when im picking up the car after the install... what needs to be done to make it a complete job? any certain adjustments, alignment, etc?

Sorry for all the questions, It's my first time doing this

+1 . My BMW workshop guy says he can't handle the alignment as he does not know what the correct figures are , for post - spacer alignment. Can any one chime in as to what are the correct figures for alignment?

No - I have this setup and no rubbing whatsoever...

Also on the track I noticed the car with Eibach and 15/12 spacers really was sharp - seemed to be able to corner better than other stock M3's that were out there...

Springs will "break in" settle in their own. There is nothing that needs to be done to look lower or better. They will get to a point and then it will never be lower unless you change the srings or go to coilovers.

Most of the people here have been running Macht Schnell spacers and been very happy with them.

You will need an alignment after the springs are installed. Going back to stock specs should be just fine. Also you will need adjust your headlights also.

FYI again springs do not settle after two weeks. Measure your ride height today and then do it again in two weeks and you will see it's exactly the same. Keep in mind your car does sit higher after being jacked up and then let down, but one quick ride around the block will take care or that.
