Potential New Owner--question on winter driving
I am almost ready to bite the bullet on a new 135i
what I am most concerned about is winter driving. I do plan on getting a good set of 17" wheels and good snow tires.. Pirelli or Bridgestone I frequently (most weekends) go up to Muskoka (family cottage) and the roads are cleaned, but have several inclines and sometimes ice under the fresh snow. I've never had an issue with my 07 GTI (fwd) and good snows. Should I expect the same snow performance or should I be going with the 328xi? feedback is appreciated |

My car was fine in the snow, the only problem is the low front end so if you're not driving through anything over 3-4" of snow, you're fine.

I ran 18" Pirelli 240 Sottozeros in a 1 foot snowfall we had here. My car was basically a plow but I got home with no issues what-so-ever. I was on the northshore of LI which is very hilly, similar to the pictures you posted.
Fantastic tire btw. It does not get enough love on this site. |
