Ultimate track setup

Do any Foeum members have this setup on their car? KW coilovers I don't know which model these are. This car was at Nurburgring GP track yesterday. I don't know if they were doing some testing? I was entering the braking point to turn one, when this M3 coupe explodes out of the pit lane and enters turn one. Being a fellow M3 I wanted to test my cars metal against the coupe; no chance this car was fast through the corners Why? He had some sort of KW suspension setup I have never seen on a M3 he also had semi slicks Toyo R888 and full Akrapovic exhaust; oh he also got rid of his stock seats and installed a set of carbon fiber Porsche GT3 race buckets, he said the factory seats weigh to much. I watched him go out for the last session for the night there was no one that was keeping up with him this setup was extremely fast. Sorry I forgot to get pics of the seats.

Maybe EDC controlled units? They alreay know how to defeat the system.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

This car is not equipped with EDC from the factory. During the sessions i seen his mechanic making adjustments to the control units. But I didn't see any electrical cables going to the control units. I wish i took pictures of the seats The GT3 RS seats with carbon backing are awsome!!!! Recaro has something similiar not as agressive the Recaro CS carbon. They don't have it on there website but i seen it at Recaro days 2009 at the Nurburgring. They look awsome and feel awsome and are alot lighter than stock and cheaper than the BMW performance seats and they also have a side airbag 1500 euro is the going rate.

The GP track at Nurburgring is only open ocassionaly to the public for touristenfahrt. Public driving They charge 30 euro for 20 minute session. On Tuesday there were all kinds of cars present Mostly BMW M models and Porsche GT3 and GT3 RS. This guy was definately running the hottest laps. I tried keeping up with him but his tires were superior in the grip department not to mention his suspension was way superior. I know my next mod will be some H&R Sport plus ssprings and invest in some semi slick tires. I was really impressed with the Toyo R 888 his tire were 245-40-18 front 265-35-18 rear.

Those are the same camber plates that come with the Clubsport but obviously the adjustment is on the external resivoir, but they generally look the same
The stock seats are heavy, I lost 85lbs when I put the Pole positions in, its enough to lighten up the car and go do cornerbalance
Surprised he didnt touch the brakes

That is NOT the EDC unit controller.

I know because I have them. I think it might be the hydrolic system that they have.

That's the external nitro canister, typically where you adjust nitro pressure and compression fast and slow response assuming the system has 3 or 4 way adjustability. If you just have a 2-way system like the Moton CS, you just have a slow compression response setting here.

They look like KW's Competition 3-way but with remote reservoirs.

Looks pretty sweet, but for the kind of money that is likely to be, I'd go with Moton CS or their Streetsports.

that's why I went Moton street sport, plus remember that clubsports and 3-ways don't have warranty for street usage and they need to be rebuild after sometime.

Street Sports are not the same caliber of shock as the KW's shown in the pic. They just dont have the adjustability. The street sports are great for what they are, a good street shock.

and trust me the streetsport is by no means a street shock, its a track suspension with street usablity.

He isn't running spacers. He has the KW competition series, 2 way adjustable remote resevoir, specially designed for the most demanding race track in the world the legendary Nordschleife. He also has a full Akra exhaust saves 50lbs he also has Porsche GT3 RS carbon backed seats saving another 110lbs for a total weight savings of 160lbs the only other mod he has is a set of Hawk brake pads i don't know what kind of pad. But i suspect it's a dedicated track pad just by looking at the condition of his brake rotors they have some pretty serious grooves dug into them. Pretty much his car is M-DCT with no other options plane jane track monstor!!! His car is amazing on the track plus he knows how to drive the living piss out of it. He runs mid 7 minute lap times at the Nordschleife.
