New Conti DWS all season
Continental has a new ultra HP all season called the
"extreme contact DWS (dry, wet, snow). The tire looks really good, with a nice rounded shoulder. They look like they would have a solid appearance. I read some Euro reviews and they loved the tire, equating and beating the Mich PS2 all season, RE960. In 245/255 size they are lighter than the PS2. There is a 235/40 size that is 25.4" Diameter is .2" bigger than the 225, and .3" bigger than the rear 255. Width is another question. I wonder if that would fit? Tire Rack rep? 225/40/18 avail in the DWS? 235/40 will it fit the 135i? The front tire 235/40 is $149, the rear 255/35 is $211. $720 for the set, not bad. PS2 AS + 235/40 is $205 255/35 is $245 $900 for the set. |

225/40/18 DWS's will be available late July for around $140 per tire. The 235/40 will fit the front but it doesn't fit the OE wheel. You really should have an 8" wheel to make that work. I road tested this tire yesterday. Very well mannered. I will be track testing it in the very near future.

What about the DW, non-S ? Did you test them as well ? Any plans to have them in correct size for us ?

I'm considering getting a pair of the 135i rear wheels to put on the front. That should do it. BTW, with the 8.5" on the front too, will the Conti 245/40 fit all around? Or, 245/35? I prefer same size all around. Thanks. |
