Is Bilstein coming to the E9x coilover market?

I've heard of many people having problems with the KW V3 coilover, which is perhaps the most street friendly system out right now.

Does anyone know when Bilstein will be out with something for us?

They have been making terrible noises after a few miles, and KW hasn't been aiding the problem of those specific customers.

Link please? I haven't noticed any noises and I've had them longer than just about everyone else...

I've searched for problems with the KWs on this forum too. People have said things about sounds here and there but nothing big.

If you can find a link post it. There are a few ppl from KW that look at these forums from time to time.

The problem with some threads is someone might post a question or an issue and then resolves it without following up on what was done to fix it. Often times it's installer error.

FWIW, I searched this forum for the word noise and nothing came up related to this issue.

I believe this is the post to which he is referring:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=243156

There is also this one:

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=251605

I just developed the same squeak - it seems the majority of those affected by it have the problem on the front, passenger side (which is where mine squeaks).

I contacted KW directly, and they "are aware of the problem", and are "trying to replicated it", to try and effect a solution.

It's not really a big deal - annoying, but not a deal breaker, for sure. Pros far outweight the cons, here...

i've had NO problems with any of my kws.. ive had them on three different cars.. its probably the installer over torquing and messing up the shock. tell them to hand tighten it.

I just talked to Bilstein - was checking into it for a customer. They are expecting release date towards the end of summer around August.

As to KW problems - I am not sure what problems with the KW's, they are by far one of if not the best suspension companies out in the market. Their R&D and support is industry leading.

Is Bilstein making a shock/coilover setup that can replace the OEM EDC shocks?

I'm gonna agree with tightie, it prob has to do with the installer, but then again why would'nt KW tell them to stop F'ing up the install?

Don't know what the hold up is with Bilstein on these since they're available in Europe.
Maybe they'll make this an option, though it's REALLY pricey.

http://www.sharkwerks.com/products.php?pid=197

As for the KW's, there were also people on th E90 side with leaking shocks.

I'm guessing you lose the edc if you change to coilovers? Right?

I have kw v2 on my e90 they make a clanking noise once and a while...

Thanks!

We have been supplying Bilstein PSS10 for non EDC cars in Europe for a couple of months now. Customers have been very happy with it.

I don't understand why it is not being sold in the US market.

Is there going to be much difference between their set-up and the KW V3 coilover?

I don't really know exact differences, I am sure Bilstein will be using their own settings like they always do. They will be using their own proprietary technology just like KW uses their own as well.

did they also say that they will come out with EDC compatiable coilovers?? or something to make the EDC feel like normal coilovers.?

I should NOT have taken the EDC.
