FMIC from X6 35i?
I was just checking the FMIC's, and it sucked I couldnt find a cheap one with good quality here in germany.
So I thought....whats up with the N54 engine in the X6. That car is so heavy, imagine the heatsoak if you do a few accelerations. So, fact is, price is 190Euro (~200$) It looks the same (exept bigger) Stock mounting. 135i FMIC X6 35i FMIC Man, 200$, thats nothing. Im gonna order this part and check it.

I'd be surprised if it will fit without a lot of fabrication. I doubt the width is the same, and there's not a lot of movement available in the pipes to match them to the inlet and outlet couplings on the intercooler.

Matt,
did some quick measurements using a tape measure and converted to metric, these are not exact but the 135i intercooler is dimensionally smaller the the one pictured. overall width approx.71.1 cm (outside flanges of plastic inlets) intercooler width approx 52.7 cm depth (front to back) 11.1 cm (about the same as the one pictured) probably is on 11cm height approx. 13.2 cm The overall width maybe the same if you measured in a different spot. The plastic end pieces on the 135i seem to be wider then on the X6, so it appears it may fit, it is not hugely larger so may work, its an easy R&R, go for it. Fran |

Three Questions:
What are the exact part numbers for the parts? (Since I'm deployed right now and can't access the links) Is there any cutting involved? Do you need to take the bumper off to install it? Thanks |

Probably yes, but if it came to it I think even BMW wouldn't argue in court that a larger intercooler made by them for the same exact engine and meant to keep it cooler under the higher stress of a heavier vehicle application is what caused damage to the same engine it is meant for in a car subjected to lower stress by virtue of its smaller mass, but who knows
