Clutch Pedal Travel

Does anyone else agree that amount of travel on the clutch pedal is just way too much? I almost feel I can shift gears with my right hand faster than I can get the pedal all the way to the floor and back. Why does it have to be so far? Is there any aftermarket solutions for this? I know some people are trying to figure out a clutch stop, but how much unnecessary travel will that eliminate? That will just stop some closest to the floor correct? There has to be some way to cut this distance way down.

that should help lower the resistence against your left foot

done already. Great improvement, but doesn't decrease travel distance

Make yourself a clutch stop. I am surprised there are no aftermarket ones available yet.

yea that would stop travel at the end of depressing the clutch. But is there excess travel in the beginning when you first press it before it starts doing anything?

There is no threaded hole in the floor, like on the E46. You can still make a stop, it's just not quite as straightforward.

People have been mounting/screwing stops onto the pedal arm. I'd be a bit concerned about it getting loose and stuck, etc.

Agree 100%

The travel on the clutch is just ridiculous. I really hope there will be some sort of aftermarket solution for this. I wonder what the purpose is of such a long travel?

Did the clutch spring mod yesterday, and although it doesn't reduce travel it *feels* like it does, and it makes for much better shifts (1 -> 2 was killing me). But +1 on it still being too long a travel, something shorter would be nice.
