Forgestar F14...Will it fit?

Hey guys, these wheels are advertised in the m3 forum commercial sales and I see that they have a 19" x 8.5 ET 46 (Front) and a 19" x 9.0 ET 50 (rear)

Will these fit the 135i?

I have no suspension mods and have not rolled my fenders..
what do you guys think?

I know. They are gorgeous and not too wildly expensive...

This is kind of embarassing but I dont really understand the whole "ET" terminology.
I know it signifies offset, but what does that really mean in simple terms?

ET means positive offset
offset is the distance the hub(dunno if thats the right word) is from the exact middle of the wheel
wikipedia is your friend

in millimeters. So an ET 46 wheel would have have the hub 46 mm from the centerline of the wheel. So, an 8" wheel is 203.2 mm wide, with the centerline 101.6 mm from either edge. So ET 46 would mean that the hub is 101.6 - 46 = 55.6 mm (2.19") from the outside edge of the wheel, and 101.6 + 46 = 147.6 mm (5.81") from the inside edge of the wheel.

Here is a crappy pictorial:

pretty much what he said.. and we need more positive offset in the rear b/c wheels like the VMR CSL at 18x8.5 +45 rub the fender, so we need a larger offset to push the wheel in... if that makes sense

Those look very nice!!! Looks like with those offsets you could run 225/255 without any issues.

Good luck!!!

Here's a nice tool for getting an idea about whether a wheel and tire combo might fit.

http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs...2&text1=&text2=

I hope the link works because I've loaded the 135i OEM wheels and tires on it. The left wheel is the front, the right is the rear. The program uses the left wheel as the OEM and the right is what you're comparing it to. If you want to see whether those Forgestars fit, change the specs on the right wheel. If you want to see if the rears fit, first change the spec on the left wheel to the BMW OEM rear, then new wheel on right. Keep in mind you still have to have proper bolt patterns and center bores, and the shoulder shape of the tires will differ somewhat brand to brand. The results therefore aren't a guarantee, just a first pass.
