Loudest exhaust that doesn't drone?

What is the loudest exhaust that doesn't drone or resonnate inside the cabin? I haven't heard the new Dinan exhaust, but I bet the Corsa (by UUC) or the AA is still the loudest without resonnance. Opinions or personal experience on the subject?

Of what I've read, the new RPi GT (full exhaust from headers back) is the loudest without a single resonnance of drone.

Hey Boosted...

Can you post a video of the sound from your catless AA xpipe with AA exhaust combo?

Ive ordered the AA Xpipe and pulley. Th ECU will be done soon as winter is over through a group buy here in Canada but Im debating about the catless AA Xpipe. Im scared it mught be too loud and I havent found any youtube videos with the full AA system.

Thanks

I drive with this system everyday. I am confident that you will not find this too loud. Unfortunately youtube clips, etc does not come close to the real sound.

Hey My Cousin Has the AA X-Pipe with NO Cats and the Eisenmann Race
with NO Res Piping on his E92 M3 and it sounds PERFECT. It is Loud But not
to the Point where it will drive you crazy! I actually Drove his car the Other
day and revved the Shit out of it and it sounds Beautiful! Sounds VERY Mean!
The X-pipe With NO Cats Helps a lot with the Sound! I can tell you it wasn't
extremely Loud! Plus its his Daily Driver. If its not too Loud for a 35 Year old
Guy and his Wife, Your Fine! loll

Hope this helps!

Jack

Loud + no drone = loss of power. There is always going to be some sort of resonance. The key is to try to limit that as much as possible or create an exhaut that gives a different frequency. What bugs most people is that low resonance that likes to creep aroun 2-3k rpm.

This is actually the problem with my AA exhaust, there is an annoying drone/resonance at around 1,700-2,000 RPM. My E90 is a DCT so leaving it in auto mode and driving around town is maddening but if you are manual, you can downshift to make sure your rev is above 2,000 RPM but not the most fuel efficient method.

One of the ways to get rid of drone is with chambering or noise canceling inserts. The problem with these is that they are not always the best for performance. In many cases, we see a significant decrease in power over stock.

CD, I think that you had the AA on with the X-pipe. That'll make a big diff. I've got the AA Signature system with stock midsection. Yes, the same drone that's there with the stock pipe is still there, but it's only 1 to 2dB louder with the windows rolled up.

I love it for cruising up and down the parking garage ramps and startling people walking and setting off car alarms, but it really tames down as the revs go up. I've got a 6-speed so I NEVER cruise at 1700 to 2000 rpm.
