If you plan to never lower the car, I'd say EDC is way worth it. If you are going to do coils, then it's probably best to not get EDC though you have no chance of getting Mdrive. I'd say Mdrive is a deal breaker.

If you want to do coilovers then you don't want EDC. But you can lower with EDC using H&R or Eibach or RDSport springs and it works fine. Personally I love EDC, I love being able to dial stiffness in and out of the suspension on the fly.

I agree with FStop7. I love my EDC as well because I can personalize the cars dynamics to my liking.

It's all the other stuff that comes in that package that's a deal breaker. EDC is just something else to break or malfunction.
Heck, when i demoed a new M3 with EDC it malfunctioned 3 miles off the lot. I'm doing coilovers, so at least i won't have to deal with it. |

i got mine with m drive and other options but no edc...i dont really miss it.
some people say the ride will be more comfy for daily driving with edc and then i can go in to stiff and sporty when i want. but really in normal settings without edc, its fine for me, not overly harsh, pleasant. but im riding on 18s. for me m drive was the most important, my dealer only had manual with m drive and some other options, so i bought that. i dont regret not having the edc, i wont track the car, and compared to what i am used to driving the suspension and handling are good enough for me. |
