Extracting data out of the OBD

Does anyone know if historic data be extracted out of the OBD? Data such as engine related data, car speed, gear, temperature readings, longotidinal / transverse accelaration, steeting angle, vechicle inclination etc.

If so I would be interested to get a reliable OBD reader for data analysis after a track day. I am not a pro or something, but I suppose it would be fun to try to draw some meaningful conclusions after track data analysis.

Has anyone used an OBD reader in a E92 M3? Any recommendations for a reliable reader? General user feedback / thoughts on this are also welcome.

Interesting. I couldn't see a list of the "engine sensors" they are referring to though. Do you know if you can get access to air flow measurements for instance?

The other day I was checking out this:

http://www.bimmerzone.com/OBD2_Scan_Tool.htm

Seems pretty complete solution. It outputs into a PC or pda.

PLX makes some good stuff. I have had some of thier stuff before and was very happy with it. I bet if you emailed them and inquired what sensors it supports, they would respond in kind.

It doesn't list the E9X M3. Do you know if the BMW specific sensors streams work for our cars?

I don't know but I was planning to ask about compatibility issues. When I get as responce I advise accordingly.
