Would this be the honor system?

Not to many people have dragged the new M3, and the ones that have posted times on the board, have been modded.

1. Inflate your front tires a bit more, but always under the maximum psi (to be safe) as indicated on the sidewall of the tire so as to decrease rolling resistance. = higher MPH.
2. Bring a helmet, NHRA rules.
3. Top tier gas 93 octane 1/2 tank max.
4. Avoid the water box, it's for slicks and drag radials only. Do a slight burn-out just to clean the tire surface.
5. Adhere to the recomended rear tire pressure. Eventually you can deflate 2lbs at a time, but that's for later.
6. This may seem so obvious, but I see it all the time. Drive strait, a slight correction will cost you.
7. Only bring what you absolutely need to keep weight down.
8. Don't get distracted and worry about cutting a good light, it's about your car's performance for now.
9. Focus, start with lower rpm launches and work your way up in 100 rpm increments. Remember the 60-foot time is very important and the hardest to master.
10. Let your engine cool down. Cool = more power.
11. Pick a day with cool, dry air. = more power.
12. Arrive early, so you are up front in the line. It will help keep your engine cool and unless they prep the track between runs, the first rounds have less layers of slippery surface.
I'm sure I forgot something. Hope this helps. And YES, you will beat the magazine times!

I recommend you watch the video posted in the General BMW News section before you try this. This is not M3 territory.
Nice post.. good for the new comers at the track.
Only thing I can add is have fun.. no one runs good their first time out. It takes alot of practice and seat time, the track is very different than the street. The more you go the more improvement you will have.

I hope to go mid 12s. Low 12 stock would be awesome

You won't go low 12's stock and you won't go mid 12's either. You are going to find out first hand DCT takes a lot of practice at the strip.

You are away behind on this topic and dragtimes exists for this very reason.

Don't waste your time with him. I will never understand why someone would by an M3 and just obsess about 1/4 drag times. When I think of tracking an M3 a straight line is the furthest from my mind.

It just depends, the car can do everything well. That is why I love it.

You are right about me wasting my time with him though.

hahaha talk about assuming right off the bat.. is that all you do?
you dont even know who I am? From 40 posts you judge all that, I just joined last week cause I bought a m3.

Definitely NOT obsessed with 1/4 times thats not why I bought this car. I just like racing all my cars to see where they are at whether 1/4 mile or road coarse. INSTEAD of magazine racing everywhere like you. Im sorry if that bothers you.

I own a few vehicles highly modified 2003 c5 zo6, 2006 Evo IX, 2008 GL550
So no your assumptions on why I bought this car are all wrong.

Do I want set a fast 1/4 time on the STOCK list yes. Cause Ive been drag racing for years and have experience and would love to see how fast a m3 can go stock. Thats the only reason for this thread.
Instead of both of you being wise guys why not just point me where this list is? (the point of my thread)

Crazee, you haven't been here long so let me give you a piece of advise. Although the majority of those on this site are true auto (M//) enthusiasts, there is unfortunately a good number of people who believe their crap don't stink, so brace yourself.

With you as well apparently, you both need to do more reading and less typing.

You post does not reflect how I feel about the M3 at all, simply put, you are wrong.
