Are our cars more rare than the e46 M3?
Just curious what you all have experienced. I live in Silicon Valley and almost never see e9x M3s except my own. When I owned my e46 M3 it seemed they were everywhere I went. Thoughts??

I see E46's all the time, but have only seen a couple E9X's around here.

However I think this is largely because this car has only been out for 1 and now just going on 2 production years where as the e46 was out for 6 already. Also alot of e92's are still on dealer lots due to the economy. |

I hardly ever see E9x M3 in LA. See a lot of E46 M's. Maybe in 5 years there will be more but it seems like the E9x isn't as popular as the E46 ever was.

It's indeed rarer due to the fact that the global economy is failing, and it costs about $15,000 more than the E46 version.

EDIT: original reason I meant to post -- I just saw my first E90 on the road the other day. He was honking and flashing his lights like he had never seen another M3 on the road either.

More often than a Yugo. That car has you owned in terms of rarity.

I never see them on the road. I see two at the same place all the time....parked!!! Regarding the rarity of the e92...i think much less common than the e46 but primarily due to the ecomony right now.

i don't know how reliable this is but i found this:
"In its first six months of sales, the previous, and highly lauded E46 generation M3 Coupe (Voted MOTOR Magazine Performance Car of the Year on debut), powered by the 3.2-litre straight six-engine, was acquired by 132 fans. In the same time-frame, the new E92 generation M3 Coupe has been delivered to 263 eager owners" |

Since Launch I've only seen five production M3's. Two white coupes, one Space Grey, a Jerez sedan, and a Melbourne vert.
Hopefull there will be one more Melbourne coupe roaming the streets in the near future. |
